Termatrac is a very effective breakthrough in development in the detection of termites, invented and developed in Australia using technology similar to radar. Termatrac is the exciting answer to detecting termites through timber, plasterboard, bricks or masonry with no interference to the building material or termite activity.
Termatrac, explained, emits signals which penetrate the material you are searching. If these signals are interrupted by termite activity, the device will alert you to this activity.
Then you can track the extent of their activity without invasive disturbance, track termites to their entry point, locate the nest, determine the most suitable treatment procedures, and monitor termiticide application and bait placement. Thermal imaging works by detecting heat energy caused by active termites within the walls of your home. Using infrared technology, the operator is given a wider view than they would have if limited to their own vision. This wider view gives them access to understanding the path in which termites are moving through the home and what attracts them to these areas.
Thermal imaging locates termite risk areas, moisture damage, poor structural framing and other issues normally hidden by wall linings. This is extremely valuable to homeowners as it can help eradicate problems such as mould growth and decay within the early stages, saving you money in the long run!

We utilise moisture meters on all termite inspections that we carry out. These devices assist us in detecting areas of high moisture to internal walls. This can sometimes indicate leaking plumbing in walls or leaks in the roofing. Both of these situations are conducive to termite attacks and can cause damage to buildings. The presence of termites within a wall can also increase the moisture content, so using a moisture meter can assist us in locating concealed termite activity.
It is designed to run along skirting and exposed timbers; the tone changes when it runs across termite-damaged timber. We check the external timber and structural elements of door frames, window frames and timber trims.
With a powerful torch, we look around all the skirtings, door frames and cornices, looking for termite mud sticking out from any cracks and crevices, tiny holes in the wall or ceiling linings that could be from termites.
We inspect for mould, high moisture readings and bulging walls, which could indicate a termite nest.
We inspect all the floors for any sign of termite activity.
Wet areas of a house are the most common areas for a termite infestation. So we pay meticulous attention to these areas ascertaining whether there are any water leaks.
With a powerful torch, we look around the underside of the floorboards, joists and bearers for termite mud and activity. We are also on the lookout for signs of bora. Each individual pier and foundation is inspected for termite mud tracks. All subfloor wet areas, pipes and plumbing are inspected for leaks. We look for drainage and for ventilation issues.
First, the Micropest termite inspector checks all the fences for termite mud and wet rot.
Closely inspect trees and tree stumps for any termite activity.
Inspect all the external walls of the building for any termite mud.
